Senior Electrical Construction Manager
Hinkley Point C - Bridgwater
Permanent – Full time

Summary
NG Bailey are proud to be involved in the Hinkley Point C project based in Bridgwater, Somerset. This is the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain providing zero-carbon electricity for around six million homes. NG Bailey, the UK’s leading independent engineering and services business, are proud to be part of the MEH Alliance, a joint venture to deliver the mechanical, electrical and HVAC installation for the project.
As the project moves to a new phase of discipline lead delivery, we are looking to recruit a number of Electrically biased Senior Construction Managers to support the current leadership team across the electrical department. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic project at a key time as we are looking to grow significantly in this next phase.
These are full time permanent positions based onsite at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater, we are open to applicants wanting to work away and do offer generous uplifts and allowances to accommodate this.
Key Deliverables
- Accountable to the Project Director for the allocated discipline within designated areas (Nuclear Islands, Conventional Island & Balance of Plant)
- Allocates resources within given area (labour plant and materials provided by the client) into work areas based on agreed programme and labour histogram
- Coordinates with area leads to manage discipline scope within their work areas
- Ensures Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) are deployed appropriately
- Provides oversight of preconstruction activities within allocated area
- Responsible for the workforce being put to work in designated areas
- Responsible for Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Productivity, IR, Resource Planning to 4 week Deterministic Plan
- Interface effectively with Preconstruction Team, Discipline Leads, Planning and Programme Teams, Safety and Quality Teams and Client Representatives as Required
- Encourages an effective supportive working ethos within the electrical discipline delivery team across work areas to ensure consistency in management and delivery

What We’re Looking For
- Relevant Professional Accreditation (PM, Construction, Electrical Engineering) and extensive experience installing electrical systems
- Experienced in delivering and operating at a senior Leadership Level, preferably with experience working within Joint Ventures or alliance arrangements
- Proven track record in large scale projects in the nuclear or similar regulated sectors, including leading major EPC projects with Profit and Loss responsibility

NG Bailey on the Hinkley Point C Project
We are working across both Hinkley Point C units to deliver the infrastructure that will power the station and its operations, creating 1,000 jobs including many specialist engineers. Works include the design and installation of circa 76,000 cables totalling over 3,000km in length; over 180km of cable containment support systems; fire and environmental sealing; design and installation of earthing systems, and specialist packages associated with data acquisition and plant control.
