Engagement Accounting Analyst – Corporate Services Accounting

About the Role & Location
This full-time position is based in London, reporting to the Engagement Accounting Manager. AlixPartners has adopted a hybrid work model, combining:
- In-office days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
- Flexible working: Remote options available on Monday and Friday
Responsibilities
As an Engagement Accounting Analyst in the Corporate Services Accounting team, you will partner with client engagement teams and the finance function to ensure efficient working capital management. Key duties include:
- Invoicing & Accounts Receivable:
- Monitor work in progress (WiP) on engagements and collaborate with teams to prepare and issue client invoices on time, per contract terms.
- Manage accounts receivable (A/R) to ensure prompt cash collection, identifying and addressing issues proactively.

Client Contract Compliance:
- Stay updated on client contracts, amendments, and extensions, assessing their impact on invoicing and capital management.

Fee & Financial Adjustments:
- Perform tasks such as:
- Time and expense fee adjustments
- Write-offs, transfers, and reconciliation of advances/retainers
- Handling nonstandard or complex matters with judgment and urgency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with engagement teams, management, and colleagues to improve operational efficiency across the order-to-cash process (contract review, invoicing, revenue recognition, and cash application).
- Suggest improvements to working capital management processes and tools.

Requirements
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferred but not mandatory).
- Experience: Relevant accounting or finance background, ideally in a consulting or professional services environment.
- Stylę & Work Ethic:
- Highly flexible, responsive, and comfortable operating under pressure—meet deadlines while maintaining professionalism.
- Proactive problem solver with a strong customer service mindset.
- Communication:
- Fluent in written and verbal English and French (technical and business). Ability to present to diverse stakeholders.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong MS Word, Excel, and Outlook skills; openness to learning new systems.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.
- Confidentiality & Compliance:
- Capable of handling sensitive information while upholding the firm’s Code of Conduct, including Ethics, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) policies.
- Work Environment & Physical Capabilities:
- Willing and physically able to work full-time in both office and remote settings, including sustained computer-based work (hours of screen/use).
