Role Description

The Engagement Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Canterbury. This position is responsible for designing and leading engagement initiatives that connect learners, educators, and partners with Academic Economics’ programs and resources. Day-to-day tasks include:

The Engagement Director will oversee engagement campaigns, analyze participation and feedback data, and refine strategies to improve learner experience and outcomes. The role also involves:

  • Leading cross-functional teams
  • Providing clear communication and guidance
  • Ensuring alignment between engagement activities and organizational goals

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in Program Management and Project Management to design, deliver, and improve educational and engagement initiatives.
  • Strong Communication and Consulting abilities to interact effectively with learners, academic partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven Team Leadership experience, including motivating colleagues, coordinating cross-functional work, and driving results.
  • Experience in stakeholder management, relationship building, and partnership development within educational or related sectors.
  • Ability to use data and analytics to evaluate program performance and inform decision-making.
  • Background in economics, education, or a related field is highly beneficial; a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in an on-site environment.
  • Commitment to inclusive, learner-centered practices and fostering a welcoming environment for diverse participants.
