About SkillNet Solutions SkillNet Solutions is a global technology consulting firm delivering eCommerce, order management, point-of-sale, and digital commerce implementations for retail and consumer brands. Our Client Engagement division partners with clients from initial discovery through go-live and beyond, blending onshore and offshore delivery talent to execute complex, multi-workstream retail technology programs.

The Role We're looking for an Engagement Manager to join our EMEA team and own the client relationship and delivery oversight for a portfolio of retail technology engagements, with particular emphasis on Oracle Retail Xstore point-of-sale implementations, upgrades, and cutover programs. You'll sit at the intersection of client leadership, project delivery, and SkillNet's commercial goals — running steering committees, managing scope and financials, and keeping cross-functional teams (PMs, BAs, architects, developers, onshore and offshore) aligned and accountable.

You'll join a peer group of Engagement Managers reporting directly to the VP of Client Engagement, working alongside Strategic Consulting and Global Presales colleagues across SkillNet's matrix organization.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary client-facing owner for assigned EMEA retail accounts, building and nurturing trusted relationships with client sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Lead client steering committees and executive status reviews, preparing pre-reads, tracking actions, and driving decisions to closure.
  • Manage the full engagement lifecycle for Oracle Retail Xstore point-of-sale programs — including version upgrades, new-store rollouts, and cutover/go-live planning — in partnership with Project Managers and technical leads.
  • Own engagement financials: track budget, margin, and consultant utilization against targets, and course-correct when indicators signal risk.
  • Develop and negotiate Statements of Work (SOWs) and Change Requests (CRs), coordinating estimates and scope with delivery and offshore leadership.
  • Coordinate resourcing and hard-booking requests across onshore and offshore, multi-vendor delivery teams, ensuring the right skills are in place at the right time.
  • Manage risks, issues, and escalations throughout delivery, maintaining RAID logs and driving mitigation with project leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to expand SkillNet's footprint within existing accounts, working closely with sales and presales colleagues.
  • Ensure engagements follow SkillNet delivery standards, templates, and governance processes across waterfall, agile, and hybrid delivery models.
  • Provide regular reporting to SkillNet leadership on account health, financials, and delivery status.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
