Location: Based at the Care Experienced Hub 7a, Orange Street, BS2 9HG (Bristol City Centre).
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an engagement worker to join the Care Experienced Hub, based in the city centre we support children and young people throughout their journey in care and as care leavers. There are five teams dedicated to supporting young people aged 16-25 who are leaving care. One of these teams is the Care Experienced Hub which houses our 21+ service. We have high aspirations for our children and young people and are committed to providing services to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with care leavers on planned, specific pieces of work alongside the personal advisor where necessary to develop independence skills and improve outcomes.
- Support care leavers to reduce isolation and loneliness and increase independence through activities such as monthly supper clubs at Zaza Bazaar and regular trips and outings.
- Develop and run workshops, groups, and events for Care Leavers to promote confidence and positive wellbeing alongside signposting to relevant organisations.
- Work with Care Leaver Parents to help them understand child development and attachment theory, identify areas for improvement and recognise how their own adverse childhood experiences impact their responses.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to form and maintain relationships with young people and their families.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to continuous learning and development.
You will also have opportunities to become involved in projects and areas of interest.
