Junior Full Stack Developer
Location: Manchester, UK (Hybrid)
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Full Stack Developer to join our growing technology team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career developer to gain hands-on experience working across both front-end and back-end development while contributing to real-world software projects.
You will work closely with experienced developers, designers, and other members of the technology team to build, maintain, and improve reliable and user-friendly web applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain responsive web applications across front-end and back-end technologies.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Build and integrate APIs and backend services.
- Work with databases and assist with data modelling and optimisation.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver new features.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software bugs and technical issues.
- Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards.
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests where appropriate.
- Assist with application deployment and ongoing maintenance.
- Keep up to date with modern web development technologies and best practices.

Requirements
- Some commercial, academic, freelance, or personal experience in full-stack web development.
- Good understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Familiarity with at least one modern front-end framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Basic knowledge of back-end development using technologies such as Node.js, Python, Java, or .NET.
- Understanding of REST APIs and web application architecture.
- Familiarity with relational or NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of Git and version control workflows.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

- Experience with React and Node.js.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of Docker or CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with automated testing.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- A degree, bootcamp qualification, or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
