This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a background in residential development, civil engineering or technical design to take the next step in their career, supporting land, development and site teams across a range of housing schemes.
The successful candidate will have a strong eye for detail, good commercial awareness and a desire to deliver technical work to a high standard, whilst also supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and engineering support to the Land and Development teams during feasibility studies and preparation of site viability reports.
- Identify and appoint external consultants, agreeing scopes, fees, programmes and deliverables.
- Manage consultant relationships and ensure technical information is delivered in line with project programmes and relevant warranty standards.
- Consider commercial implications relating to planning, architectural design, civil and structural engineering, geotechnical requirements and ground remediation.
- Coordinate statutory services, including new utility supplies and diversions.
- Assist with the tendering, establishment and management of site management companies.
- Work closely with internal teams, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to achieve Building Regulations, warranty approvals and conditions discharge.
- Coordinate utilities, including designs, quotations and associated agreements.
- Manage the adoption process for site infrastructure.
- Provide engineering support to site teams and internal departments.
- Attend site and lead relevant technical meetings relating to the procurement and approval of site infrastructure.
- Assist with technical reporting, KPIs and regular status updates.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
