Working with a global financial services organisation who are looking for a Network Security Engineer to help deliver a high-profile project.

The Senior Network Security Engineering Lead oversees the design, operation, and ongoing enhancement of enterprise network security capabilities across data centre, campus, WAN, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.

Details

  • Location - London
  • Hybrid - 2-3 days / week in office
  • Duration - Initially 12 months
  • Rate - £750-£850 / day Inside IR35 via Umbrella

Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong understanding of network security principles, including security boundaries, network segmentation, micro-segmentation, and Zero Trust architectures.
  • Extensive hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing Palo Alto and FortiGate firewalls, along with F5 BIG-IP load balancing solutions.
  • Proven expertise in deploying and maintaining proxy services and secure web gateway technologies.
  • Advanced troubleshooting capabilities across Layers 2-7, combined with significant experience leading to major incident response and resolution activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to architect secure data centre and wide area network (WAN) environments with robust segmentation and micro-segmentation strategies.
  • Practical experience working with Cisco ACI, including security frameworks, policy enforcement, and network automation models.
  • Strong track record in vulnerability management, remediation programmes, and coordinating security incidents and risk mitigation efforts across multiple teams.
  • Experience operating within highly regulated industries, such as financial services, with a focus on audit compliance and maintaining comprehensive documentation.
