About Tropical Marine Centre

Tropical Marine Centre is a world leader in the supply of ornamental marine livestock and a UK-leading manufacturer of commercial aquatic equipment. With sites in Chorleywood, Manchester, and international operations extending to Portugal, TMC is a business built on deep industry expertise, a passion for animal welfare, and an uncompromising commitment to quality.

TMC holds Gold status with Investors in People and is committed to the development of its people at all levels. This role is part of a broader investment in building the next generation of skilled specialists within our Biosystems division.

About the Role

This is a hands-on manufacturing role aimed at building a skilled fabricator with specialist knowledge of aquatic systems. You will spend the majority of your time on the workshop floor at our Chorleywood facility, learning to fabricate, assemble, and maintain the filtration systems that Biosystems designs and sells worldwide.

If you have the practical mindset, the eye for detail, and the desire to become a skilled tradesperson in a niche and growing industry, this role will give you that platform.

About Biosystems | TMC

Biosystems is the commercial manufacturing division of Tropical Marine Centre (TMC), the UK's leading manufacturer and distributor of innovative commercial aquatic filtration equipment. From our base in Chorleywood, Hertfordshire, we design and build plug-and-play recirculation filtration systems (RAS), UV sterilisers, LED lighting, and advanced life support equipment used in public aquariums, research facilities, aquaculture operations, coral restoration operations and specialist retail applications worldwide.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
