Engineer/Mechanic

The Company:

The Quill International Group was established over 50 years ago and has an outstanding reputation in delivering high quality engineering solutions to a range of market sectors including aero engineering and additive manufacturing. Well known for offering a stable and supportive environment, you will play a vital part within a team of skilled staff to maintain our high standards of production.

The Opportunity:

The role involves undertaking service and repair maintenance on dustless blasting equipment, compressors and air breathing units. Candidates must have a solid background within the industrial mechanical sector and should possess good fault finding skills, together with an ability to work with a high degree of independence. Some experience of compressors is preferred however full training will be provided. Although this role is largely based at our headquarters in Melbourne, Derbyshire the successful applicant will be required to attend customer sites in the UK for servicing and breakdowns.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  • NVQ or equivalent in mechanical engineering
  • Experience in the servicing of engines or compressors
  • Electrical and/or pneumatic experience an advantage
  • Some driving including towing of trailers will be required
  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills
  • Flexibility to assist members of the team with specialist projects
  • Prepared to adapt and support other engineering teams within the company

Job Essentials:

  • Permanent, full time position
  • 41.5 hour week plus over time as required
  • Location - Derbyshire DE73 8JB
  • Full clean driving licence with ability to tow
  • Salary: 27.5k-29k depending on experience
  • Uniform provided
  • Up to 20 days of annual holiday allowance (increase of 1 day per year served up to 27 days) plus 8 bank holidays
  • Company closure between Christmas and New Year
  • Early finish Fridays (subject to workload)
  • Workplace pension scheme
