Engineer - Power & Environment - Groundworks
Location
Travel required around West Midlands

Purpose
Responsible for the implementation and troubleshooting of power and environment infrastructure solutions. This role ensures the reliability and efficiency of power supplies and electrical distribution & environmental infrastructure for Arqiva's corporate, broadcast, transmission, satellite, and smart utilities networks.
Accountabilities
- Conduct troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical & environmental systems.
- Perform testing and validation of new power & environment solutions.
- Ensure identified risks are managed in line with Risk Management Process
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards & regulations.
- Assist in project planning and execution.
- Supervise the delivery of 3rd party and contractors to ensure that specifications and standards meet Arqiva requirements
- Stay updated with the latest developments in electrical engineering and power systems.
- Complete planned works and Electrical maintenance on a range of systems and networks
- Respond to faults, troubleshoot and service outages and complete corrective maintenance in line with Arqiva standards, policies and procedures.
- Complete Inspection Electrical testing to ensure compliance with regulatory, industry and customer requirements.
- Generate maximum team efficiency through delivering bundled activities within skillset
- Engage with internal/ external stakeholders and build positive working relationships
- Willingness and ability to climb.

Skills
- Power & Environment - Understanding of power systems and electrical & ventilation engineering principles
- Software testing - Understanding of software testing principles, methodologies and tools
- Diagnostic tools - Proficiency in diagnostic engineering tools and software
- Analytical and technical problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Telemetry and Monitoring
- Site Management
- Cabling and Tooling
- Communication skills - collaborate with cross-functional teams, present technical info and provide training or support
- Adaptability - Flexibility to adapt to changing technologies and work
Knowledge & Experience
- Experienced in power and environment engineering.
- Proficiency with engineering software and tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations.
- In Depth knowledge of the principles of power supplies, environmental controls, analogue and digital electronics
- Working knowledge of systems and equipment relevant to role such as RF systems, DVB, Analogue Radio, DAB, Microwaves, Sat Comms, Data Networks, Telecoms
- Familiarity of Generator / Power generation systems
- 18th edition / City & Guilds 2382 or equivalent
- City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent

Qualifications
A degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field is advantageous or completed recognised apprenticeship or equivalent
