Engineer / Senior Engineer

Location: Stirling
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: Available on request, Company car or car allowance, bonus, pension, private healthcare and additional company benefits

Are you an Engineer / Civil Engineer with experience in the housebuilding industry looking for a new opportunity in the Central Belt?

The Opportunity:

Pettigrew Recruitment Group is working with a respected privately owned Scottish housebuilder to recruit an Engineer / Senior Engineer for their technical team in Stirling.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer or Senior Engineer to join a well-established business and play an important role in the technical delivery of residential developments across Scotland.

The company is open minded regarding the level of appointment and will consider candidates from a range of backgrounds. This could suit an established Senior Engineer, an Engineer ready to take the next step in their career, or someone working within a civil engineering consultancy who is keen to move into the housebuilding sector.

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across technical, land, commercial, construction and sales, helping to ensure developments are technically robust, commercially viable and delivered efficiently.

The Role:

As Engineer / Senior Engineer, you will support the technical delivery of residential developments from the early design and planning stages through to construction and completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing civil engineering and infrastructure requirements across residential developments.
  • Reviewing and coordinating roads, drainage, utilities and external works designs.
  • Working with external engineering consultants and specialist designers.
  • Reviewing technical drawings, reports and specifications.
  • Identifying engineering risks and helping to develop practical solutions.
  • Supporting the preparation and submission of technical approvals.
  • Liaising with local authorities, utility providers, statutory bodies and external consultants.
  • Coordinating technical information with construction and commercial teams.
  • Monitoring consultant performance, programme requirements and design deliverables.
  • Supporting tendering and procurement activity where required.
  • Attending design, project and site meetings.
  • Responding to technical queries during the construction phase.
  • Ensuring designs are practical, compliant and commercially appropriate.
  • Supporting junior members of the technical team where applicable.
  • Maintaining accurate technical records and project information.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
