Engineer, Service Management Platforms (ScheduAll)

Role Description Summary

The position is responsible for the administration, operation and development of our ScheduALL / ScheduLINK application and underlying infrastructure. While the incumbent will be part of our IT Business Operational Systems department, also close partnership with our Video / Sports & Event business unit will be required to ensure timely project delivery.

Primary Responsibilities / Key Result Areas

  • Develop ScheduAll solutions as per business requirements.
  • Act as the ScheduAll subject matter expert and guide business stakeholders to find the best solutions.
  • Take care of the regular maintenance of the ScheduAll environment, incl. application, interfaces, databases and servers.
  • Handle day to day operations such as incident resolution, user administration, report creation, and general user support.
  • Work closely with stakeholders from Infrastructure, Operations, Sales, Booking and NOC departments.
  • Escalate tickets to the ScheduAll vendor and follow-up for timely completion.
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers, network, security, and other appropriate stakeholders to implement potential fixes or improve features or performance.
  • Take on responsibility for timely implementation for assigned projects and activities.
  • Document environments and procedures.
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Deliver 2nd Level on-call support to assist the SES teams on application or system issues, including outside office hours.
  • Ensure that all systems selected or developed comply with prevailing IT Architectural Standards, including but not limited to security standards and Information Security policies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum five years of applicable professional experience.
  • Experience in the video broadcasting industry.
  • Deep knowledge of the ScheduAll application and underlying database structure, especially of following resources used by SES:
    • SCheduALL/ScheduLINK
    • Band Plan
    • Booking (focus on transmission paths, transmission parameter & conflict management incl. technical compatibility)
    • Operations Manager
    • Inventory setup (e.g. Services, Rooms, Bandplan / Satellites, Uplink / Downloinks, Fiber, etc)
    • Pricing, External Costs, Invoicing / Accounts Receivables
    • User Profiles and Security, Developers toolkit, WebApp, Chrosu API
  • Deep knowledge of SQL Server, Crystal Reports, SSRS Reports, MS Power BI, MS Windows Server and Clients, and Rest APIs.
