Engineering Admin Assistant
Location: Waggon Road, Ayr - 25 Hours per Week
Monday - Friday, £13.45 per hour
We're looking for an organised and enthusiastic Admin Assistant to join our Engineering team at Waggon Road, Ayr. This is a varied administrative role supporting the day-to-day operation of the depot and helping to ensure engineering records and systems are maintained accurately and efficiently.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who enjoys working in a busy environment and can manage a range of responsibilities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
What you'll be doing
As an Engineering Admin Assistant, you'll provide essential administrative support to the Engineering department, including:
- Entering defect cards accurately into company systems
- Updating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets
- Releasing work orders using the EAM system
- Recording and reporting key performance indicator (KPI) information
- Maintaining engineering and employee records
- Filing and general office administration duties
- Assisting with onboarding activities for new starters
- Supporting basic HR administration tasks
- Ensuring documentation is accurate, up to date and compliant with company procedures

What we're looking for
- Previous administration experience in a busy office environment
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn new systems and processes
- Experience of working with maintenance or engineering systems would be advantageous but is not essential
