Spire Nottingham Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Administrator to join the team on a full-time permanent basis.

Duties and responsibilities:

The Engineering Supervisor is a key member of the Engineering team who is instrumental in ensuring compliance with all current legislation and Spire policies regarding the Estate management.

The core responsibilities of the Engineering Supervisor.

Compliance and efficiency:

  • To maintain grounds, building fabric, building services, and all hospital equipment in a cost-effective manner, whilst ensuring minimal asset downtime, thus maximizing the utilisation of the facility. All aspects must ensure compliance with related regulations and Spire policy.

Engagement:

  • To effectively lead the Engineering team to build engaged individuals who provide efficient and consistent ways of working in line with the Spire Healthcare values and behaviours.

Performance:

  • To manage the day-to-day performance of the team to deliver the Key Performance Indicators.
  • To ensure that all documentation required for the Engineering audit is up to date and filled in the correct location.
  • To ensure that all contractor documentation is up to date and signed off by the Engineering Manager and filled correctly – including upload to the CMMS system.
  • Support the Engineering Manager in ensuring all estates policies are up to date with the relevant information in.
  • Ensure all relevant information is uploaded onto Pirana.
  • Ensure monitoring is taking place for essential compliance tracking.
  • AMAT management, ensure that all relevant information is uploaded onto AMAT.
  • To record and schedule all new equipment and services for planned maintenance on the network CMMS. Ensure continual update of hospital asset registers to keep all plant and equipment visible to the site and the network.
  • To ensure all remedial works identified in infrastructure, plant and equipment inspection reports, are tracked on the facilities tracker system and quotation are received.
  • To support the Engineering manager in accurate record keeping and easy retrieval filing of documentation for all services and equipment for audit purposes.
  • To support the Engineering manager with managing the ordering of spares, services, and consumables for the Engineering & Facilities department.
  • All other general Administrator tasks.
  • To be the Hospital Medical Device Manager. This includes asset register management, arranging servicing and remedial works alongside departmental medical device leads.
  • Ensure compliance with Clini 53 – Management of Medical Devices and support the Engineering Manager in any audits and actions.

Quality:

  • To establish, monitor, and develop local policies and procedures in conjunction with current Spire Policy, HTM, and Code of Practices.
  • To work in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and Spire H&S policies.
  • To feedback contractor performance issues of any centrally negotiated contracts.

Any other duties:

  • The post holder may be required to hold other roles as required by the business to ensure compliance with regulation and Spire policy.
  • The post holder will be required to provide training to the hospital teams, particularly in areas of expertise/responsibility.

Who we're looking for:

  • Previous Experience in Administration
  • Experience in building services management with a track record of success
  • Knowledge of building services
  • Able to prioritise demands against resources
  • Able to develop objectives in line with corporate/local business plans
  • Able to negotiate service levels and also local contracts with external suppliers
  • Able to assure hospital compliance with changing legislation
  • Knowledge of the healthcare market
