We are looking for an experienced Engineering Applications Technical Lead will provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for a portfolio of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) engineering applications, primarily focusing on MATLAB, IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM), and Creo Parametric. The role will also support related CAD, ALM, MBSE, Requirements Management, and Simulation tools used within Aerospace & Defense and wider engineering environments. Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 technical support for engineering COTS applications and their integrations (MATLAB, IBM ELM, Creo Parametric, and related tools).
- Analyze and resolve complex incidents and service requests, including detailed root cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of permanent fixes.
- Manage application operations, including availability, performance monitoring, health checks, and capacity considerations.
- Plan and execute upgrades, patches, hotfixes, and application migrations in line with change and release processes.
- Administer application environments including configuration, user access, roles, permissions, licenses, certificates, and service accounts.
- Maintain and troubleshoot integrations between engineering applications and connected platforms (e.g., ALM, MBSE, Requirements, Simulation tools).
- Ensure adherence to SLAs/KPIs for incident, problem, and change management, and participate in CAB and planned maintenance activities.
- Create and maintain support documentation, SOPs, knowledge articles, and runbooks; lead Knowledge Transfer (KT) sessions.
- Act as primary technical escalation point, coordinating major incident resolution and providing technical leadership during critical outages.
- Collaborate with customers, business key users, other support groups, and software vendors; drive continuous improvement and automation opportunities.

Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM), including DOORS Next and ELM integrations/environment management.
- Proven MATLAB administration and troubleshooting skills, including Simulink platform support.
- Creo Parametric administration, deployment, and environment management experience.
- Experience with related engineering tools (CAD/ALM/MBSE/Requirements/Simulation) in Aerospace & Defense or complex engineering environments.
- Good understanding of database fundamentals (SQL Server and/or Oracle).
- Scripting And Automation Capabilities (PowerShell, APIs, Python Preferred).
- Exposure to or working knowledge of Arbortext Aerospace & Defense, IBM DOORS (classic), Cameo Teamwork Cloud/MBSE tools, E3 Cable, and MOOD systems (good to have).
- Strong service management experience in global AMS environments with SLA/KPI-driven support models.
- Excellent customer-facing, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to lead technical discussions and service reviews.
- Demonstrated leadership in technical teams, including mentoring, KT, onboarding new applications into AMS, and driving process improvements.
