Summary

We are offering the opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to build their careers in precision CNC Mill Turn Operating. We welcome applicants who have a passion for engineering who like being hands on, have great attention to detail and a desire to learn.

Wage: £22,560 a year
Minimum wage rates (opens in new tab)
Discretionary bonus: x 2
Pension scheme: 6% employer contribution and 2% employee contribution, rising to 18% employer contribution after 3 years service.

Training

Training course: Engineering and manufacturing support technician (level 3)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 15:30. Lunch, 30 mins. 40 hours a week
Start date: Monday 26 October 2026
Duration: 3 years 6 months

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work:

• Operating CNC machines, which includes loading workpieces, selecting tools, and setting machine parameters
• Following and interpreting engineering drawings, understanding the specifications and tolerances required for each part
• Monitoring machine performance and making adjustments, identifying and addressing any issues that may arise during the machining process
• Ensuring quality and accuracy of finished parts and verifying that they meet the required specifications
• Attend all college training sessions and complete coursework and assignments to a high standard within agreed timescales

What you'll learn:

• Follow health and safety regulations, standards, and guidance.
