Foundation Apprenticeship in Engineering and Manufacturing
Foundation apprenticeships are introductory courses that help young people get started in an industry. You do not need to have any specific qualifications or experience to apply. Anyone between 16 and 21 can start a foundation apprenticeship. If you're between 22 and 24, you can start if you:
- Have an EHC plan
- Are in care or have been in care
- Are in prison or have been in prison
What You'll Do at Work
- Assist engineers with inspections, servicing, and repairs of powered access equipment.
- Learn diagnostics, mechanical and electrical skills.
- Support LOLER checks.
- Keep the workshop safe.
A hands-on start to your engineering career! You MUST have access to your own vehicle due to the location of the company.
Wage
£16,640 to £26,436.80, depending on your age
Training Course
- Engineering and Manufacturing Foundation Apprenticeship (level 2)
Hours
- Monday - Friday
- Under 18: 08:30 to 17:30
- Over 18: 08:30 to 18:00
- 1 Saturday/month for 6 hours
- 40 hours a week

Further training and development may be available, including manufacturer training, LOLER certification, and progression into senior engineer or mobile engineer roles.
