£15,184 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Monday - Thursday, 8.00am - 4.00pm, Friday 8.00am - 3.00pm

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work:
The facility is packed with the latest equipment to develop the skills and knowledge of the apprentice. Daily tasks will include:
- Laser cutting
- Tool maintenance
- Tool repair
- Working on hydraulic and servo powered presses
- Use of 5 axis CNC machine

Training
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Training Course:
Engineering technician (level 3)
Course Contents:
- Obtaining, checking, and using the appropriate documentation
- Working safely at all times
- Planning and obtaining all resources required to undertake the work activity
- Using the correct processes, procedures, and equipment
- Carrying out the required checks
- Dealing promptly and effectively with engineering/manufacturing problems
- Completing any required documentation
- Restoring the work area on completion of the activity
- Reading and interpreting relevant data and documentation
- Assembling and disassembling aerospace mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and whole systems
- Precision drilling and finishing of holes in aircraft assemblies
- Applying assembly techniques
- Using sealing and jointing techniques
- Contributing to the business by identifying possible opportunities for improving working practices, processes, and/or procedures

Additional Training:
- Installing and connecting pipe-work systems and aerospace assemblies
- Carrying out testing and diagnostic activities on installed components, equipment, and systems
- Installing lighting, power supplies, engine control, and instrumentation systems
- Maintaining power-plant (piston or turbine engines), propellers, or rotors
- Using correct bonding and assembly techniques
- Applying human factors in aviation
- Using mechanical and electrical measuring and/or test equipment
- Carrying out aircraft functional checks and fault diagnosis
- Identifying, controlling, repairing, and preventing damage, fatigue, and corrosion of aircraft components
- Inspecting, repairing, removing, and replacing aircraft structures, components, sub-assemblies, and systems
- Undertaking aircraft flight-line handling and operations
- Maintaining aerospace components, sub-assemblies, or whole systems
- Undertaking aircraft role configuration activities/requirements
- Preparing and maintaining the aircraft maintenance programme
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- GCSE in: Maths (grade 9-5 minimum)
Desirable Qualifications:
- GCSE in: English (grade 9-4 minimum)
