Role Overview
This co-op is located in Rochester NY within Eastman Business Park for our Industrial Films and Chemicals Division. The principal responsibility for this co-op role is to support engineering projects and day-to-day activities across various film and chemical manufacturing processes. The co-op will gain hands-on experience in manufacturing operations and engineering design.
This co-op can be Fall 2026 (preferred) or Spring 2027. Will be 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Support various controls projects, including troubleshooting and obsolescence upgrades.
- Primary focus will be on upgrading multiple obsolete variable frequency drives. Create release documents that include wiring diagram and drive parameters. Assist with installation and commissioning.
- Participate in projects involving process improvements, equipment reliability, and automation enhancements.
- Collaborate with engineers and skilled trades personnel on multi-generational equipment and systems.
- Assist in technical support for operations and maintenance activities.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge
- Familiar with Allen Bradley VFDs.
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs and ladder logic. (Plus, but not required)
- Interested in automation, mechatronics, and process control systems.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Electrical, Automation, Controls, or Mechatronics Engineering. Preference for students that have completed Sophomore year or later.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and motivation to learn.
