About The Role

As Engineering Delivery Manager in Beckton, you will oversee a substantial portfolio of capital projects for Pertemps Thames Water, delivering MEICA engineering construction solutions across wastewater, water production, and network functions. Your remit covers both above and below ground assets, requiring you to devise cost-effective strategies that drive productivity and cultural change. Collaborating closely with operational teams, you will embed commercial focus and corporate values into every scheme. This full-time role offers up to £66,000 per annum, dependent on experience. The position suits a professional with solid engineering project management expertise, ready to implement innovative solutions across our operational sites.

This is a fantastic career opportunity for someone with engineering project management experience to join a highly collaborative and supportive team in our Capital Maintenance Projects and deliver modern and innovative solutions to our operational sites.

In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of a large portfolio of capital projects, providing MEICA engineering construction solutions for wastewater, water production, waste and water network functions, above and below ground.

What you will be doing as an Engineering Delivery Manager

We are seeking a commercially astute and motivated person to provide MEICA construction solutions to the process and network functions across Thames Water, on both Clean and Wastewater Assets. You will ensure that the health and safety requirements, quality standards, contractual specifications, commercial objectives, and program deadlines are met promptly.

Main Areas Of Focus Will Include

  • Being an integral part of the growing Capital Maintenance Projects team.
  • Managing the procurement process, framework suppliers and sub-contractor supply chain involved in the delivery of site-based construction activities.
  • Being directly responsible for resource management and the training, development, and support of directly managed Project Engineers.
  • Providing estimates, programming, and planning support to the wider team.
  • Ensuring the delivery of all construction projects on the program with 100% compliance with client specifications.
  • Managing the client’s site requirements, ensuring minimal impact on the operational functionality of the site.
  • Delivering all projects within legislative, CDM and regulatory requirements, including Health & Safety, Environmental and HR.

The base location for this role will be based on a Hybrid basis in Beckton STW. But it will require travel across the area.

Hours of work are 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

We’re Looking For You To

To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:

  • Have gained experience within a commercial and technical role and preferably educated to degree/HND level in engineering and/or business administration, ideally with post-qualification experience.
  • An understanding of basic civil engineering works, contract law, planning, estimating and tendering is required.
  • Have a proven track record of project management in an engineering environment with a good working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and ICA systems of work.
  • Provide management of the procurement process, framework suppliers and the sub-contractor supply chain, involved in the delivery of site-based construction activities.
  • Be responsible for resource management, and for the training, development, and support of directly managed staff.
  • Provide estimating, programming, and planning support to the wider team.
  • Ensure the delivery of all construction projects on the program with 100% compliance with client specifications.
  • Manage the client’s site requirements, ensuring minimal impact on the operational functionality of the site.
  • To deliver all projects within legislative, CDM and regulatory requirements, including Health & Safety, Environmental and HR.
  • Manage up to 10 staff, and all stakeholder key interfaces, internal and external.
