Engineering Director - Highly Regulated

Are you an experienced Engineering Director looking for your next challenge? My client is a leading manufacturer of highly regulated safety instrumentation, based in Camberley, Surrey, and is looking for an Engineering Director to lead its multi-disciplinary engineering function and drive the engineering strategy across the business.

This is a senior leadership role where you will be responsible for leading engineering teams across multiple disciplines, overseeing engineering delivery and ensuring the organisation continues to develop and deliver high-quality products within a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams across electronics, electrical, mechanical and other engineering disciplines.
  • Developing and implementing the overall engineering strategy, ensuring it aligns with wider business objectives.
  • Providing leadership and direction across engineering and R&D, ensuring projects and product development activities are delivered effectively.
  • Overseeing engineering performance, processes and continuous improvement across the organisation.
  • Ensuring engineering activities meet the required quality, safety, regulatory and compliance standards associated with highly regulated products.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading an engineering or R&D organisation, ideally within a highly regulated or safety-critical industry.
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams across areas such as electronics, electrical and mechanical engineering.
  • Strong experience developing complex products within a regulated environment, with experience in industries such as defence, aerospace, medical, marine, industrial or other safety-critical sectors.
  • A strong technical background with the ability to provide strategic and technical leadership across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Industry experience in ideally Electromechanical Design Engineering
  • British citizenship is required due to the highly regulated nature of the products and industry.
