Job Description

Experian Software Solutions (ESS) is the global product and engineering function delivering world-class software solutions through the Ascend Platform. ESS is structured around core business areas: Analytics, Decisioning, Identity & Fraud (ID&F), and Solutions. ESS is comprised of ~1,100 people across 14 countries, almost 80% of whom are engineers.

This role is for Fraud & Identity Engineering team within ESS for building, maintaining and deploying Identity & Fraud related products within Experian for 500+ B2B clients cross the globe.

As the Engineering Director, you will provides strategic engineering leadership across a global organisation, combining people leadership, technology modernisation, and delivery accountability. The Director acts as a senior partner to business and technology stakeholders, shaping how engineering teams operate, innovate, and deliver at scale.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Build and lead high-performing teams, setting clear direction, priorities, and accountability for results across multiple geographies
  • Drive delivery excellence by translating strategic objectives into executable plans, measurable outcomes, and sustainable operating rhythms
  • Champion an AI-native mindset by embedding AI, automation, and data-driven decision-making into engineering practices, delivery models, and team problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Java full stack,.NET, AWS, EKS, Claude, Cursor based engineering and deployment practices.
  • Act as an agent of technology change by leading modernisation, simplifying legacy approaches, and accelerating adoption of new platforms, tools, and ways of working
  • Serve as a solution provider for complex business and technology challenges, bringing structured thinking, sound judgment, and pragmatic decision-making
  • Partner closely with product, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to align priorities, remove blockers, and deliver scalable solutions
  • Lead with flexibility and adaptability in a global matrix environment, working effectively across time zones, cultures, functions, and leadership levels
  • Build collaborative relationships across regions to enable consistency, knowledge sharing, and effective execution in a globally distributed organisation
  • Ensure decisions and execution reflect appropriate governance, security, compliance, and enterprise risk standards
  • Own workforce planning and talent strategy for the engineering organisation, including succession planning, capability building, and diverse talent pipelines
  • Set and manage budgets, vendor relationships, and resourcing decisions to ensure sustainable delivery capacity
  • Represent engineering in senior leadership forums, providing visibility on risks, dependencies, and progress against strategic commitments
  • Coach and develop people managers within the organisation, strengthening leadership capability at the next level down

Qualifications

  • Strong people leadership experience - coaching and developing global engineering teams
  • Proficient in Java full stack, .NET, AWS, EKS, DevOps, Claude, Cursor based engineering and deployment practices.
  • Expertise in building strong relationships with teams and leaders globally and influencing decision making using a data driven approach.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and learning, encouraging teams to challenge the status quo and adopt better ways of working
  • Experience using AI tools and driving adoption across the team
  • Demonstrate a strategic mindset while staying close to execution and driving delivery of solutions.
  • Solves problems with a business-first and technology-informed mindset
  • Adapts quickly and works effectively through ambiguity
