About the Role
What does it take to hold a gasifier stable when the feedstock changes moisture by the hour and the only truth is a thermocouple that can lie? This is an engineering intern building Zero-X gasification plants at Gemino Ai; Epic Solutions PT runs the on-site program here. Zero-X is on Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies list (Energy category, 2018), funded by PTJ (Projekträger Jülich, the German federal research agency), and built the Cometha project ("Waste to Methane") for the City of Paris. This is phase one: getting the right people in to start. You leave with the proof employers hire on — a working control loop debugged on a live reactor, not a class project. Everyone has a degree. Almost nobody has proof.
What You Build
- The cold-start procedure that brings a gasifier from ambient to stable gas.
- The syngas quality loop: moisture, tar, temperature, pressure.
- The instrumentation checklist that catches a failed thermocouple before it feeds bad data to the control loop.
- A run log that records what the operator saw, not what the datasheet promised.

Where You Do It — and Why Here
Thirty years building companies — New York, London, Tokyo, the Valley — and then it stopped mattering where the work happened. So the program runs on-site here. A modern company costs twelve people and a toolchain — so being wrong six times a year is part of how we build. The campus is 4,000 sqm, and the people who run the companies are on it every day. Core hours are eleven to five. Monday reset, Friday ship — the week ends with what you shipped, not a status update. You are in the room with the people who run the gasifier bench, not a training coordinator. This is not remote work. One fixed cohort, on-site for the full run. What Happens After
The internship is step one. Seventeen interns have moved into full-time roles across the group. For Zero-X gasification work, the destination is Melbourne — the Energaia Institute, beside Monash. The full-time role and its terms are agreed before you commit, never after. This is a path, not a guarantee.

Requirements
- A degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent — you have proven you can finish something.
- You drive Claude Code, Hermes, or Codex every day and catch what the AI gets wrong before it ships.
- One thing you built that nobody asked you to build.
- The full program is on-site, with no remote break.
