Not your grandad’s bookie.
The Core Group owns the foundations of the customer lifecycle - from registration and identity verification to payments, withdrawals, and account management. We build customer-facing products, critical backend services, and operational tooling across KYC, fraud, safer gambling, compliance, and new-market launches, helping Midnite grow securely and reliably.
We’re looking for an Engineering Lead to provide hands-on technical leadership while formally managing and developing a team of three to six engineers. This is not a conventional Engineering Manager role or a purely technical lead position: you’ll create PRs, write production code, and release features while setting technical direction and helping the whole team perform at its best.
You’ll bring deep backend experience and a full-stack, systems-thinking mindset, understanding how clients, APIs, services, data, infrastructure, operations, and third-party integrations work together. You’ll work closely with Product and Design to turn complex or ambiguous problems into simple, reliable experiences delivered incrementally. Your impact will be measured not only by what you build, but by the quality of the team’s technical decisions, delivery, and growth.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
