Engineering Machining Manager

Working within a specialist PE-owned Group and at their machining and grinding operation near Wolverhampton, our client is seeking a new Engineering Machining Manager to support their ongoing drive on efficiency and manufacturing growth activity primarily within the global aerospace and industrial sectors.

Managing a team of circa 30 people, the role is focused on successful day-to-day operational efficiency, engineering strength, accurate schedule adherence as well as maintaining their journey in continuous improvement and best practice. This is a hands-on role reporting to and working closely with the CEO.

Working to high tolerances and primarily with specialist carbon-based materials as well as some metallics, the Engineering Machining Manager should have considerable experience of working and leading engineering/manufacturing teams across CNC grinding, machining or similar precision operations. This role would ideally suit candidates who have seen career success within similar fast-paced market-driven SME organisations (aerospace, defence, automotive, medical).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
