Engineering Maintenance Shift Manager (Nightshift)

About the Role
As Engineering Maintenance Shift Manager (Night Shift), you’ll:
- Lead an engineering and operational team in maintaining and optimising food and drink processing/packaging assets.
- Oversee planned preventative and reactive maintenance, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Combine hands-on leadership with technical solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Develop team capability while contributing to process innovation.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan & deliver maintenance activities (planned predictive & reactive)
- Diagnose & resolve electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, automation, and pneumatic faults
- Lead teams during machinery changeovers & equipment set-ups
- Drive continuous improvement and support failure investigations
- Conduct technical performance reviews with key stakeholders
- Maintain engineering documentation (up-to-date & accurate)
- Ensure proper tooling and spares availability
- Support audits (internal/external)
- Manage day-to-day people activities for direct reports
Requirements
- Strong multi-skilled engineering expertise (particularly electrical bias)
- Sound knowledge of food manufacturing equipment & hygienic engineering
- Fault-finding skills (mechanical, electrical, automation systems)
- Experience in planning maintenance, budgeting, spares, and CMMS
- Proven leadership in motivating & developing teams
- Contractor management & safety compliance experience
- Understanding of health, safety, environment, legislation, and risk management
- Continuous improvement mindset (reliability/productivity exposure preferred)
- Excellent communicator with engagement across operations & engineering
