Our Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to develop hands-on engineering skills while working alongside experienced maintenance professionals responsible for supporting the next generation of rail vehicles.
What you'll be doing
As an Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprentice, you'll receive structured training and practical experience to develop your skills in rail maintenance. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will:
- Support maintenance specialists and team members with a variety of maintenance activities.
- Learn to use engineering tools safely and effectively.
- Follow standard operating procedures to maintain modern rolling stock.
- Develop the ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team.
- Support operational objectives through additional maintenance-related tasks.
- Participate fully in a formal apprenticeship programme leading to a Level 3 qualification.
- Attend college and complete coursework to a high standard.
- Take part in regular training, development and performance reviews.
What we're looking for
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are keen to learn, motivated to develop their skills, and interested in pursuing a long-term career in engineering.
You'll ideally have:
- A genuine enthusiasm for working in a maintenance environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A professional and responsible approach to work.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- An understanding of the importance of health and safety within a working environment.
- A motivated, dependable and detail-oriented mindset with a desire to build a career within engineering.

Entry Requirements
GCSE Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English.
