Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a mobile engineering team of approximately 6–7 engineers, working primarily with React Native.

This is a hands-on leadership role, with approximately 70% of the focus on people management, team leadership and delivery, and 30% remaining technically hands-on. You will be responsible for building and developing a high-performing engineering team, supporting technical decision-making and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, scalable mobile applications.

The successful candidate will combine strong React Native engineering experience with proven experience building, managing and developing engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of approximately 6–7 mobile engineers.
  • Build and grow effective engineering teams, supporting recruitment, onboarding and team structure.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, regular feedback and career development support to engineers.
  • Take ownership of team performance, engagement and ways of working.
  • Work closely with engineering, product and delivery stakeholders to plan and prioritise technical delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership across React Native mobile applications.
  • Remain approximately 30% hands-on, contributing to development, code reviews, technical problem-solving and solution design.
  • Support architectural and technical decision-making across mobile applications, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable and aligned with engineering standards.
  • Promote engineering best practice across areas such as clean code, automated testing, CI/CD, application performance and software quality.
  • Support effective integration between mobile applications, APIs and wider backend services.
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies and delivery challenges and work with the team to resolve them.
  • Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes, team capability and technical standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
