The Role
This is a chance to lead a high performing engineering team at the heart of a product used at genuine scale. You will sit within a wider leadership group, working hand in hand with product management and product design to shape what gets built next, not just how it gets delivered. You will be trusted to develop your people, protect their focus, and make the calls on where speed matters and where long term engineering health matters more. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and grow a team of engineers, embedding strong agile working practices.
- Drive team performance and product delivery in line with wider business goals.
- Partner closely with product management to shape and prioritise the product backlog.
- Provide technical oversight and direction, working across teams and functions.
- Balance speed to market against long term engineering decisions and technical debt.
- Identify opportunities for your team's professional growth and act on them.
- Anticipate future hiring needs and partner with talent teams to recruit strong engineers.
- Deliver honest, regular feedback and formal performance reviews.
- Flag risks around scalability, performance, security and operational readiness early.
- Stay close to the tools, technologies and challenges your team faces day to day.

What You'll Need
Essential:
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years as a people manager or lead.
- Proven experience working within an agile software development environment.
- Strong communication skills, able to present clearly to stakeholders and clients at all levels.
- An analytical, data driven approach to decision making.
- Comfort balancing speed to market with long term engineering investment.
- A genuine passion for people management, mentorship and career development.

- Experience mentoring engineers into their own leadership paths.
- Background in a fast scaling SaaS or consumer technology platform.
