Engineering Manager
BettingJobs are looking to hire an Engineering Manager for a sports betting and data collection company based in London.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team
- Set priorities, drive delivery, and foster a high-performing, accountable culture
- Translate technical and product strategy into clear, actionable plans
- Champion best practices for scalability, performance, resilience, deployability, and integration
- Collaborate with product, operations, and leadership to deliver outstanding platform solutions
- Guide architectural decisions and resolve complex technical issues
- Drive responsible adoption of AI-enabled engineering tools and practices
- Ensure quality through effective testing and documentation
- Promote smart innovation and continuous improvement
- Maintain strong communication with stakeholders and partners

Requirements
- Proven experience leading and coaching engineering teams
- Significant hands-on Java Spring and Kafka expertise
- Background in betting/gaming technology
- Cloud-native development experience (AWS preferred; Docker & Kubernetes beneficial)
- Deep understanding of scalable, resilient, and observable production services
- Familiarity with risks of AI-assisted engineering
- Advanced skills in RDBMS (PostgreSQL preferred) and REST APIs
- Experienced with GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, and Agile methodologies
- Track record working with remote teams and fast-paced environments
- Stakeholder management up to C-level
- Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving abilities
