Code Wizards Group
Code Wizards Group’s culture is just as important as our technical capability. We believe that building exceptional technology starts with building exceptional teams. We hire people who are collaborative, curious, accountable and genuinely enjoy solving difficult problems together.
Our clients trust us with their technology, their products and often information about unreleased games. Maintaining that trust is fundamental to everything we do.
Continuing the growth requires an Engineering Manager to join us in Theale. In the role you will combine technical leadership with people leadership. You'll lead and develop a team of engineers while remaining technically credible enough to guide architectural decisions, support customer engagements and ensure high-quality delivery across multiple projects.
This is a leadership role where success is measured not only by the technology delivered, but by the growth of the people and teams you lead.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
People Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop a team of software engineers across multiple projects.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews and career development conversations.
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, helping them develop both technically and professionally.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
