Engineering Manager - Edinburgh
Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid)
Salary: £100,000 - £125,000 + Bonus / Benefits
About Our Client
Our client is a growing financial technology business developing digital platforms for customers across the UK. Continued investment in product and engineering has created an opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing software team.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the people, delivery and technical health of an established engineering team. Working closely with Product Managers, Technical Leads and senior engineering leadership, you will help the team deliver effectively while supporting the career development of individual engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a cross-functional software engineering team.
- Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews and career development planning.
- Recruit and onboard engineers as the team continues to grow.
- Partner with Product Managers and Technical Leads to deliver the product roadmap.
- Remove delivery blockers and improve team effectiveness.
- Support technical decision-making while empowering senior engineers and Tech Leads.
- Promote strong engineering practices around quality, security, testing and deployment.
- Use delivery and engineering metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Create an inclusive, collaborative and high-performance engineering culture.

Skills & Experience
- Previous experience managing software engineers within a product or technology environment.
- Strong technical background, ideally having previously worked as a Software Engineer or Technical Lead.
- Experience with Agile software delivery and modern engineering practices.
- Strong coaching, mentoring and people-management capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience recruiting and developing engineering talent.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, software architecture and DevOps practices would be beneficial.

Package
- Salary: £100,000 - £125,000 + Bonus / Benefits
- Location: Edinburgh - hybrid working
