Engineering Manager
A leading Financial Services organisation is looking to hire an experienced Engineering Manager on a permanent basis. This is a remote-first opportunity offering a base salary of circa £90,000 plus an excellent benefits package.
The organisation is modernising its engineering practice and this role will suit an experienced Engineering Manager with a strong software engineering background and a passion for developing people, improving engineering standards and driving technical excellence. You'll be comfortable leading engineers, influencing senior stakeholders and working closely with Product and Architecture teams to deliver modern digital products.
This is a leadership role where you'll be responsible for developing engineering teams, driving best practice and helping to shape the future direction of the technology function. You'll work closely with Product, Architecture and Technology teams to improve software delivery while building a high-performing engineering culture.

Role remit
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of software engineers
- Drive engineering best practice across software delivery, automation and continuous improvement
- Work closely with Product, Architecture and Technology teams to deliver strategic engineering initiatives
- Improve software delivery through modern CI/CD practices and deployment automation
- Champion engineering standards, governance and reusable solutions across the wider technology function
- Support the delivery of scalable customer-facing applications and API driven platforms
Experience required
- Previous experience leading and developing software engineering teams within an Agile environment
- Strong software engineering background with experience of modern web application development using React or React Native
- Experience working with cloud platforms, ideally Azure, and modern engineering tooling
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, build automation and deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins or similar technologies
- Experience working with GitHub, Agile delivery methodologies and modern software engineering practices
- Knowledge of distributed architectures and API driven applications
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana or Dynatrace would be advantageous
