Engineering Manager: Major Infrastructure Project
We are working with a major international infrastructure and construction business delivering one of the UK’s most significant long-term infrastructure programmes. They are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to take a genuine leadership role within the project, leading engineering and design teams and providing technical direction across the full project lifecycle.
The role will include:
- Leading and line managing engineering and design teams
- Managing engineering from feasibility and design through construction, commissioning, and handover
- Managing design programmes and engineering deliverables against the construction programme
- Coordinating consultants, designers, supply chain, and construction teams
- Providing engineering and design assurance
- Managing technical, commercial, and construction interfaces
- Working within NEC contract environments
- Supporting permanent and temporary works and CDM Principal Designer responsibilities

We are looking for:
- 10+ years’ civil engineering, infrastructure, and construction experience
- Engineering Manager, Project Engineering Manager, or similar leadership experience
- Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor background
- Proven experience leading and line managing engineering and/or design teams
- Strong design and programme management experience
- Good working knowledge of NEC contracts
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline
- IEng or equivalent preferred; CEng desirable

This is an opportunity to take a senior engineering leadership role on a technically complex, long-term UK infrastructure programme with a major international infrastructure and construction contractor.
The position is based in West Cumbria, with accommodation allowance provided.
