Recruit4staff are representing a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor in their search for an Engineering Manager to work in Seascale

Job Details:

Pay: Up to £80,000 per annum (plus £6,350 car allowance)
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday - 45 hours per week
Duration: Permanent

Engineering Manager Job Role:

The Engineering Manager will provide senior technical leadership and project delivery activities on a major regulated infrastructure contract. The role will oversee design assurance, engineering governance, technical risk, constructability and design approvals throughout design, construction, commissioning and handover.

Responsibilities will include fulfilling CDM Principal Designer duties, managing permanent and temporary works interfaces, supporting gated assurance reviews and leading multidisciplinary engineering personnel. The role will work closely with project, construction, commercial and client teams to ensure that engineering solutions are safe, compliant, practical and aligned with contractual requirements.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • The successful Engineering Manager must have senior engineering or design leadership experience gained within a civil engineering, infrastructure, nuclear, defence, rail, utilities, highways, tunnelling or major-project contractor
  • Strong construction-phase design management experience
  • Knowledge of CDM Principal Designer duties
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts
  • A civil engineering degree or a comparable infrastructure engineering qualification
  • Ability to work from the nominated contract office for at least four days per week
  • Chartered status, such as CEng, MICE, MIStructE, MCIBSE or an equivalent professional accreditation

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working within a nuclear environment
