Job Title

We are partnering with a global healthcare leader looking to scale their core engineering function and build up their leadership layer. This role sits at the heart of a strategic drive to transition platform delivery from external consultancies to a high-performing internal engineering organisation.

Role Overview

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead the squads responsible for core service integrations, provider ecosystems, and backend platform architecture. While this is a hands-off leadership role, a solid foundation as a Java/Spring Boot engineer is required to drive technical decision-making and gain team respect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Scaling & Mentorship: Build, mentor, and retain talent across your squad (target span of control: 6–8 engineers), establishing clear growth pathways.
  • Architecture & Delivery: Guide teams in building resilient, event-driven architectures and microservices deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • In-housing Delivery: Seamlessly transition ownership from external consultancy teams to your permanent engineering squad over your first 90 days.
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage complex matrix stakeholder relationships while balancing technical debt and delivery commitments.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
