Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager, Chief Engineer or Head of Engineering: ready to own a site's engineering, not just keep it running?
An international FMCG manufacturer needs an Engineering Manager to lead engineering and maintenance at its Bedford site. You'll set the strategy, build the team and make a visible difference to reliability and performance.
The role
- Lead and develop a team of 20 engineers, building accountability and a proactive safety culture
- Build a strong planned and preventive maintenance strategy that cuts unplanned downtime
- Drive reliability, availability and Lean / CI using clear KPIs and data
- Deliver CAPEX and engineering projects from plan to handover
- Own the engineering budget, stores and compliance
- Work with Production and influence at senior level, reporting to the Operations Director

You'll bring
- An HND or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or a related engineering discipline
- A track record leading an engineering or maintenance function in manufacturing (FMCG a plus)
- Proven results in reliability, PPM and CMMS-led maintenance
- Experience delivering CAPEX projects and managing budgets
- A visible, hands-on leadership style that develops people
