Engineering Manager

6-Month Contract
Outside IR35
Hybrid working, 2 days London Based

We are supporting a leading renewable energy developer in the search for an experienced Engineering Manager to support a portfolio of utility scale Solar PV and BESS projects across the UK and Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional with a strong developer, technical advisor or owner's engineer background to join a high performing team delivering renewable energy projects through development, procurement and pre-construction phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical engineering support across Solar PV and BESS projects throughout development and pre-construction phases.
  • Lead technical due diligence activities for acquisitions and project financing.
  • Manage and coordinate external Technical Advisors, Owners Engineers and engineering consultants.
  • Support EPC procurement activities, including preparation and review of tender documentation.
  • Review EPC contractor proposals and technical submissions.
  • Lead development of technical specifications and EPC contract appendices.
  • Support engineering interfaces associated with grid connection, planning and project development activities.
  • Conduct site visits across the UK and Ireland as required.
  • Work closely with commercial, development and project management teams to support project delivery.

Key Requirements

  • Significant experience within the Solar PV and/or BESS sector.
  • Background working for a developer, Technical Advisor, Owner's Engineer or EPC organisation.
  • Strong understanding of UK, Irish and Northern Irish planning and grid connection processes.
  • Experience developing and managing EPC tender documentation.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to support contract reviews and negotiations.
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Familiarity with Technical Advisors, EPC contractors, investors and network operators within the renewable energy sector.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline.

Contract Details

  • 6-Month Contract
  • Outside IR35
  • London Based
  • Hybrid working with 2 days per week in the London office
  • Regular travel to Ireland as required
  • Opportunity to work on a high-profile renewable energy portfolio
  • Target start date: End of October to allow for handover from current commitments

This position would particularly suit candidates with experience gained within Solar PV, BESS, renewable energy development, technical advisory or owner's engineering environments.
