Engineering Manager (Permanent)

£80,000 - £85,000 + Bonus + Medical
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and engineering delivery across water and wastewater treatment projects
- Oversee the full project lifecycle - surveys, design development, construction, commissioning, and handover
- Work closely with civil, process, electrical, and health & safety teams to ensure integrated delivery
- Guide procurement and equipment selection, factoring lead times into the project programme
- Coordinate external designers and subcontractors to ensure work aligns with project objectives and quality standards
- Carry out site visits to monitor progress and resolve technical issues
- Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure consistent health, safety, and environmental compliance across delivery
- Prepare project reports and status updates, flagging key risks and milestones
- Feed lessons learned into continuous improvement across the business

Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
- Chartered Engineer status, or working towards, preferred
- Strong commercial acumen - comfortable managing design budgets, timelines, and resources
- Confident collaborating across multiple disciplines in a multidisciplinary environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving technical issues
- In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards, particularly in water and wastewater
- Proficiency with information management systems and design software such as AutoCAD or Revit
