Summary

Yelp engineering culture is driven by our values: we’re a cooperative team that values individual authenticity and encourages creative solutions to problems. All new engineers deploy working code their first week, and we strive to broaden individual impact with support from managers, mentors, and teams. At the end of the day, we’re all about helping our users, growing as engineers, and having fun in a collaborative environment.

Are you passionate about transforming raw data into trusted scalable systems that empower teams to make smarter decisions? We’re looking for a technically skilled and visionary Engineering Manager to lead the design and delivery of high-quality, data streaming products that drive innovation and impact across Yelp.

Yelp’s Data Streaming infrastructure is the backbone for essential functions like machine learning, real-time alerting, sales and marketing systems, and experimentation. Handling millions of reviews, ad clicks, tens of thousands of daily photo uploads, we manage a massive scale of user data. As the leader of this team, you will take on the complex task of ensuring data freshness across our entire ecosystem.

In this role, you’ll guide a growing team of SREs and software engineers, own the strategy behind scalable pipelines, and partner closely with multiple cross-functional stakeholders including engineers and business leaders to ensure consistent and reliable access to meaningful insights.

We’re seeking a leader who thrives at the intersection of architecture, mentorship, and impact. Someone who is passionate about building reliable systems, unlocking the full value of data, and enabling better business outcomes through engineering excellence. You’ll foster a culture of quality, trust, and sustainability by delivering solutions that are transparent, well-designed, and built to scale.

This opportunity requires you to be located in the United Kingdom. We’d love to have you apply, even if you don’t feel you meet every single requirement in this posting. At Yelp, we’re looking for great people, not just those who simply check off all the boxes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
