Your Role as Engineering Manager
You’ll lead high-performing engineering teams with a focus on delivery, growth, and technical excellence. Your responsibilities include:

- Ensure your team’s engineering objectives are met while fostering personal and professional development.
- Adopt a servant-leadership style, tailoring your approach to each engineer’s needs.

Technical & Operational Oversight
- Drive high-availability features that scale with Perk’s growth, acting as a technical champion.
- Advocate for systems that align with company standards and meet business needs.

Collaboration & Innovation
- Champion fluent cross-team collaboration and help resolve challenges in architecture, design, and implementation.

Strategic Roadmap & Growth
- Develop and refine a long-term technical roadmap, aligning with product goals and tribe missions.
- Support strategic team building, including recruitment and career development for engineers.

Performance & Business Impact
- Use data-driven insights to deliver a 7-star customer experience.
- Provide clear feedback to product, engineering stakeholders, and wider leadership.

AI-Augmented Workflows
- Embrace AI as a collaborative tool—ours integrates into Notion, Jira, GitHub, and Slack, accelerating workflows (e.g., feature specs, coding, PR reviews, production debugging).
- Champion agentic coding practices, where AI is an active contributor, not just a passive assistant.
Key Requirements
Experience & Leadership
- 5–8+ years managing software engineers, leading a team of 8–10 engineers.
- Technical background (preferably as a hands-on individual contributor) to inspire and mentor your team.
People Management
- Cultivate a high-performing culture that thrives on autonomy, trust, and collective growth.
- Responsible for processes and delegation to enable scalability during rapid growth.
- Conduct effective performance reviews that align with individual aspirations and business needs.

Pragmatism & Adaptability

- Proven ability to adapt quickly in dynamic environments.
AI-Driven Development
- Experience with AI tools in software engineering (e.g., AI code review, agentic workflows).
- Hands-on (or high interest in) leveraging AI to enhance development processes at scale.
