Engineering Manager

Location: Perth
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: Available on request

Are you an experienced Engineering Manager who thrives on improving processes, developing teams, and delivering high-quality technical output?

We are delighted to be supporting a growing engineering and fabrication business as they look to appoint an Engineering Manager who will play a key role in driving operational performance, supporting company growth, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

The Role:

As Engineering Manager, you will take responsibility for leading and developing the engineering, design, and fabrication teams while ensuring technical accuracy, workflow efficiency, and high-quality project delivery.

This is a varied and hands-on leadership role, combining technical oversight, team development, process improvement, and direct support across engineering, design, fabrication, and installation activities. You’ll work closely with internal teams, clients, and suppliers while overseeing engineering output from initial design through to fabrication and site installation.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Director, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people, improving systems, and taking ownership of engineering delivery across a busy and growing operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing engineering and fabrication teams, providing day-to-day support, mentoring, and development.
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and expansion of engineering and design capability.
  • Overseeing engineering design activities using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Developing and implementing engineering procedures, drawing controls, and quality processes.
  • Coordinating workload planning, resource allocation, and project priorities across engineering and workshop functions.
  • Working closely with senior management to align engineering output with business objectives and growth plans.
  • Supporting fabrication, installation, and operational activities when required.
  • Attending site visits and providing technical support for ongoing projects and client requirements.
  • Monitoring engineering quality, compliance, and technical standards across projects.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, workflow, and project delivery.
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensuring all activities are completed in accordance with health & safety procedures and company standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
