Engineering Manager

Up to £90,000 per annum + Bonus
Cardiff Office (3 days onsite p/week)

CPS Group are supporting an established financial services organisation who are growing their Product Engineering team and looking to recruit an Engineering Manager.

This is a brand-new position created due to growth, offering the opportunity to lead an engineering team, improve delivery processes and help shape the future of the organisation's technology function.

The Role

  • Lead, develop and manage a team of software engineers.
  • Improve engineering processes, delivery performance and software quality.
  • Support the adoption of AI-assisted development tools and new ways of working.
  • Work with technical leads on engineering strategy and platform modernisation.
  • Oversee project delivery, resource planning and team performance.
  • Work closely with product teams and senior stakeholders to align technical priorities with business needs.
  • Promote strong engineering standards, testing practices and reliable software delivery.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience managing and developing software engineering teams.
  • A strong software engineering background, with the ability to understand code and challenge technical decisions.
  • Experience improving team performance, delivery and engineering processes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with Java, Oracle or large-scale web platforms would be beneficial.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development, platform modernisation or financial services would be advantageous.
