This role offers the opportunity to lead a team building modern, automated solutions for complex business operations at global scale. You will help transform internal infrastructure and business workloads into reliable, productized services running on Kubernetes. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys developing people, embracing new technologies, and applying software engineering practices to improve how infrastructure is operated.

Accountabilities

  • Lead a regional engineering team focused on productizing business workloads and delivering reliable, automated operations on Kubernetes.
  • Build, manage, and grow a high-performing team of engineers through coaching, mentoring, regular feedback, and career development.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and contribute directly to engineering goals while maintaining an effective balance between management and technical contribution.
  • Establish and maintain sound software architecture, engineering practices, testing standards, documentation, and overall software quality.
  • Set realistic delivery schedules based on thoughtful estimates and continuously improve planning through feedback and iteration.
  • Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, technical leaders, and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery and alignment.
  • Promote modern agile software development practices and encourage continuous improvement across the team.
  • Foster a healthy, collaborative engineering culture built around technical excellence, ownership, learning, and high-quality delivery.
  • Participate actively in the broader engineering leadership team and collaborate with other leaders on organizational strategy and execution.
  • Support a globally distributed engineering environment while working primarily from home and traveling internationally for internal and external events, with travel of up to 20%.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
