About Reap

Reap is a global financial technology company headquartered in Hong Kong with employees across multiple countries. We enable financial connectivity and access for businesses worldwide by combining traditional finance with stablecoins for efficient money movement.

Through our stablecoin-powered corporate cards, payments, and expense management tools, we streamline financial operations and help businesses scale. Our APIs enable businesses to integrate stablecoin-enabled finance into their own products and services—from issuing Visa cards to facilitating cross-border payments.

As part of the Payward group of companies, Reap is building the future of borderless, stablecoin-enabled finance.

Why Reap?

The Treasury team builds and operates the engine underneath every Reap product — the core infrastructure that moves money across our platform. Incoming and outgoing flows, fiat and stablecoins, wallets and custody, internal transfers, withdrawals, and payouts. These systems have to be reliable, observable, and audit-ready by default, because everything else at Reap depends on them being right.

As Engineering Manager, Treasury, you'll lead the team building global, asset-agnostic money movement systems that work across regions, currencies, and financial partners. A significant part of the work is wallet infrastructure — integrating custody and wallet providers, and designing the key management, signing, and reconciliation flows that sit around them. You'll be deeply involved in the architecture and operation of those systems while developing the engineers around you. You'll partner closely with the Head of Treasury and Reap's product organization to turn treasury strategy into systems that actually hold up in production.

Your Mission Awaits

Primary Mandate

  • Own the engineering side of the Treasury domain — assets and currencies, rails and networks, FX, wallet and account infrastructure, and the global ledger — building the foundation that lets Reap launch new hubs and markets
  • Lead the design, development, and operation of core treasury systems, staying hands-on enough in the architecture to make and defend real technical decisions
  • Lead wallet and custody integrations end to end, from provider evaluation and key management design through to production operation and reconciliation
  • Develop a deep understanding of Reap's clients, product suite, and hubs, and use it to make opinionated, well-reasoned technical calls
  • Be part of Reap's engineering leadership, helping build the foundational systems that power Reap's ambitions

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work closely with product, engineering, design, finance, customer success, and business operations to drive outcomes across Reap's global hubs
  • Communicate technical decisions, rationale, and tradeoffs clearly to company leadership and key stakeholders
  • Grow and shape the Treasury engineering team — hiring, operating model, and long-term roadmap
  • Drive technical decision-making while supporting the growth and performance of the engineers on your team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Technology & Systems Craft

  • Define and build systems that compound in capability and scale, and that can be orchestrated across all of Reap's global hubs
  • Build observability into every layer; lead incident response and drive continuous reliability improvements
  • Define and measure success metrics for continuous improvement, using data to get 1% better every day
  • Maintain a high bar for quality — you care about the details of how something works and scales, not just whether the v1 shipped
  • Stay current with fintech, infrastructure, and compliance trends, and evolve our systems accordingly

AI-Augmented Ways of Working

  • Actively use AI tooling to accelerate your own output — design exploration, code review, debugging, spec writing, and technical synthesis
  • Help embed AI-native practices across the team; you raise the bar for what good looks like
  • Identify opportunities to build AI-assisted capabilities into the systems themselves, not just your personal workflow

What We Are Looking For

We encourage everyone to apply even if you just meet the must-haves. The rest is a bonus.

Must-Have

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience in treasuries, ledgers, or FX, with at least 1-2 years in technical leadership or management roles. Proven track record of owning and operating business-critical systems.
  • Wallet infrastructure: Working understanding of crypto wallet architecture — custodial and non-custodial models, key management, address lifecycle, and signing flows — and experience integrating wallet or custody providers in production
  • Domain fluency: Broad functional fluency across the finance stack — virtual assets, fiat currencies, blockchains, payment networks, ledgers, and partners/counterparties
  • API-driven systems: Experience building API-driven global financial systems — you can read specs, evaluate integration designs, and write precise API-level requirements
  • Problem solving: You care deeply about correctness, edge cases, and failure modes. You approach problems methodically, debug with rigor, and prioritize clear, robust solutions over quick fixes.
  • Engineering breadth: Deep backend experience and a genuine interest in financial infrastructure, without being bounded by stack lines. You work across layers to solve the right problem.
  • Technical judgment: You balance technical depth with product understanding and apply sound judgment to tradeoffs. You build systems that are elegant under the hood but practical and adaptable in real-world use.
  • Written communication: Your design docs, memos, and specs are clear, well-structured, and stand on their own
  • Peer collaboration: You hold a high bar for code quality, reliability, and peer review, and value working with others who do the same. You communicate clearly, challenge ideas respectfully, and raise the quality of the whole team.
  • You thrive in high-velocity, ambiguous environments, have a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality, and are comfortable running multiple workstreams with competing deadlines
  • Our main stack is TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, and AWS, but we value strong engineering fundamentals over any specific toolset

Nice to Have

  • Technical proficiency: You design systems that are stateless by default, built for scale, and resilient to failure. You're comfortable with async workflows, distributed services, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Deeper wallet and custody work: Experience with MPC or HSM-backed signing, multi-chain address management, or running self-custody infrastructure at scale
  • Embedded finance: Experience supporting B2B and B2C clients with financial infrastructure
  • Full-stack experience: Experience across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and data
  • AI tooling: Experience building or prototyping AI-assisted internal tooling
  • High-growth environments: Experience working in high-growth teams

Desired Attributes

  • Independently driven — you identify what matters, form a view, and pursue it without waiting to be directed
  • Opinionated but intellectually honest — you bring strong views and defend them clearly, but update when you encounter better information or arguments
  • Broad domain curiosity — you're as comfortable in an FX spread discussion as in a debate about ledger design or a new counterparty integration; you connect dots others miss
  • Systems thinker — you see your domain as part of a larger interconnected system and make decisions accordingly
  • High ownership, low ego — you take accountability for outcomes, escalate early when things are stuck, and don't need credit to stay motivated
  • AI-native, not AI-curious — you've moved past wondering what AI can do and are actively building your own workflows, prompts, and systems around it

Why You'll Love It Here

  • A high-impact role in a rapidly growing fintech company
  • Flexible work environment with a global, collaborative team — fully remote for EMEA, hybrid for Hong Kong and Singapore
  • Insurance coverage after probation
  • Reap Card stipend
  • Use of AI tools at work, and the space to learn, experiment, and grow with them
  • A culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning
