Job Title: Engineering Manager

Our Client, a leading healthcare provider is currently undergoing an ambitious digital transformation as they evolve into a truly tech-first business. At the center of this movement is a mission to build modern, scalable products that deliver world-class patient experiences across the UK.

We are seeking an ambitious Engineering Manager to champion this change. Sitting at the vital intersection of technical architecture, product strategy, and team development, you will have the platform and autonomy to shape both technical roadmaps and team culture, driving engineering excellence in an environment built on curiosity, collaboration, and impact.

In this role, you’ll be the key driving force behind our transformation, building and scaling new high-performing teams with you at the forefront.

  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering career development and technical growth.
  • Delivery & Strategy: Partner with Product Management to define team strategy and translate goals into actionable technical milestones.
  • Engineering Excellence: Drive high standards across architecture, distributed systems, testing, automation, and observability.
  • Growth: Building up your teams
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally across product, design, and data teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Key Requirements

  • Leadership Experience: 2+ years managing, coaching, and recruiting software engineering talent. We're happy to consider candidates that are already mentoring and leading, but want to officially step into their first EM role.
  • Technical Background: 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including cloud services and distributed systems.
  • Tech Stack: Strong foundation across modern tech stacks, ideally including Java and JavaScript frameworks.
  • Agile Practices: Proven track record in agile delivery, system architecture design, and problem-solving.
