In this role, you’ll lead the engineering activities that keep the Rhyl Flats and North Hoyle Offshore Wind Farms safe, reliable and efficient, while safeguarding asset integrity and ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and company requirements.

About the role

  • Develop and deliver long-term operations and maintenance strategies to maximise asset reliability, availability and value.
  • Provide technical leadership across wind turbines, major components, HV systems, electrical infrastructure and balance of plant assets.
  • Lead condition monitoring and asset health management to identify risks, optimise maintenance and reduce unplanned failures.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments and implement cost-effective mitigation plans that protect asset integrity and performance.
  • Coordinate engineering modifications and major maintenance campaigns in line with company standards and change management requirements.
  • Manage technical specifications, procurement support and contractor delivery against safety, quality and commercial objectives, acting as Contract Officer where required.
  • Lead and develop engineering personnel through capability building, performance management and succession planning.
  • Support key stakeholders with technical reporting, root cause analysis, business cases and engineering recommendations while driving continuous improvement and visible HSSE leadership.

Job requirements and experience

  • Degree in engineering or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Proven experience in wind farm operations, engineering asset management or a comparable asset-intensive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of asset integrity, maintenance strategy and engineering risk management.
  • Experience in managing engineering contracts, projects and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of HSSE legislation and standards, supported by an IOSH qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience with HV systems and WTSR authorisations such as AT, AE or Person.
  • The role requires residence within a reasonable commuting distance of the site or a willingness to relocate accordingly.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
