ENGINEERING MANAGER
Salary £100,000
Hybrid working – 2 days per week in a Liverpool city centre office

ABOUT THE CLIENT
We're supporting an established technology-led organisation that is investing heavily in the future of its engineering function. Following continued growth and a major platform transformation programme, they are looking to appoint an Engineering Manager to lead and develop a high-performing engineering team. This is an opportunity to join at a pivotal stage, working alongside experienced engineering and product leaders within an environment that values innovation, collaboration and modern software engineering practices.

THE ENGINEERING MANAGER ROLE
As Engineering Manager, you'll lead and develop a team of Software Engineers, taking ownership of performance, career development and creating a high-performing engineering culture. You'll work closely with Engineering, Product and senior stakeholders to improve delivery, engineering standards and ways of working. You'll also help drive the team's adoption of AI-assisted development and modern engineering practices. Although this isn't a hands-on development role, you'll have a strong software engineering background and enough technical depth to contribute effectively to engineering discussions and decision-making.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Proven experience managing and developing Software Engineering teams
- Strong software engineering background
- Experience with 1-2-1s, coaching, performance and career development
- Strong understanding of agile software delivery and engineering best practice
- Experience working with Product, Engineering and senior stakeholders
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
