Engineering Manager

We are recruiting for an experienced Engineering Manager to join a growing UK engineering and machinery manufacturer.

This is not a traditional maintenance-focused Engineering Manager role. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in engineering design, machinery manufacture, CAD and product development to lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering function. Reporting to the Engineering Director, you’ll take responsibility for engineering delivery, technical standards, team development and continuous improvement.

The Role

  • Lead and develop the Engineering Department
  • Manage engineering workloads, resources and priorities
  • Lead CAD/Design and Product Development activities
  • Oversee engineering projects from concept through to manufacture
  • Review engineering designs, drawings and technical documentation
  • Drive standardisation of machine drawings and engineering practices
  • Lead NPD, product improvement and engineering innovation
  • Manage engineering change control and documentation
  • Work closely with Production, Projects, Quality, Procurement and Sales
  • Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes and efficiency

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
